"We must overcome the notion that we must be regular... it robs you of the chance to be extraordinary and leads you to the mediocre." Uta Hagen
The Drama department operates on the principle that the subject can provide a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students. The students are encouraged to reach their potential in a creative and safe environment.
Drama can raise self-esteem, build a positive self image and promote assertiveness. Students develop speaking and listening skills as well as learning to develop and express themselves physically. We encourage independence, creativity and help form well rounded, confident students.
Drama has close links with other departments in school, in particular with Music and Art, through the whole school play. The department consists of three members of staff that specialise in Drama throughout all three key stages. We have a specialist drama studio with lighting rigs and a sound system, as well as, a school hall housing sound and lighting with a proscenium arch stage and 210 seat capacity.
