On December 5th 2016 The Healthy Futures Schools' Network of which Bebington High Sports College is a founder member held their first national conference at The University of Chester, Riverside Innovation Centre. Kev Byrne, Director of Health and Wellbeing at the school and Project Manager of the Healthy Futures Project coordinated the conference along with a small team of staff from the University of Chester and with support from Bebington High Sports College's own Alison Moreton! Representatives from over 30 schools, public health teams, universities, private organisations, primary and secondary care organisations and volunteer teams took part in the interactive conference.
The network is part of a vital movement in the country which looks to place staff and student health and wellbeing at the heart of education practice. It is a collaboration between both the health and education sectors and promises to grow into a very powerful network in the future.Click here to read the conference evaluation (PDF)
