Latest Ofsted Report

Please note: The Ofsted inspection took place the week before national exam data was available. 2017 outcomes were not taken into consideration, only provisional results. Final results showed the school to be in line with expectations and no longer a coasting school as described in the inspection report.

  • The headteacher leads with moral purpose, drive and determination. She is assiduous in her pursuit of excellence for her students.
  • Students make strong progress on academic and vocational courses in the sixth form; they are well taught and achieve good outcomes
  • Students are courteous and respectful of each other. They engage with adults and each other in a friendly manner.
  • Provisional GCSE results in 2017 are much stronger than in previous years. The proportion of students who achieved a good pass in English and maths has risen dramatically.
  • Safeguarding is effective.
  • Students say that bullying is rare.
  • Students' behaviour has improved dramatically since the last inspection and they now come to school ready to learn.
